FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific Recall of Oil for Embryo Culture
Brown Moore & Associates is currently investigating North Carolina fertility patient claims that their eggs, blastocysts, and/or embryo have been negatively impacted or destroyed from an egg retrieval and embryo processing.
A number of North Carolina fertility clinic patients have received a letter informing them of FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific’s toxic embryo oil and eggs and/or embryos were destroyed or negatively affected. If you have received a letter from your fertility clinic and provider, and/or from FUJIFILM, please contact our firm to evaluate your claim.
We are aware that FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific has issued a recall notice on January 16, 2023 for their “Oil for Embryo Culture (Light Mineral Oil)” (catalog number 9305) after complaints of reduced blastocyst development, and in some cases degenerated embryos. The affected lots include 0000011351, 0000011367, 0000015999 and 0000016001.
FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific has stated that they have conducted an extensive investigation and was able to detect oil toxicity which may cause “impairment of embryo development and result in poor blastocyst development or non-transferable blastocyst, resulting in the inability to perform the procedure.”
Your Well-Being Is Our Priority
We have reason to believe more patients have been affected throughout the state of North Carolina. If you or a loved one were a patient of a North Carolina fertility clinic from July/August 2022 through February 2023 and received a letter informing you that your embryos may have been impacted by FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific’s defective embryo oil, please contact our firm at (704) 335-1500.
