Biography
As a trial lawyer dedicated to representing individuals, Helen S. Baddour brings unwavering passion and commitment to her practice. Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, Helen’s roots run deep in her community, driving her to stand up for the rights of everyday people against powerful insurance companies.
Helen’s journey towards advocacy began in childhood, where her innate ability to connect with others and empathize with their stories sparked a lifelong passion for pursuing justice. This calling led her to pursue a career in law, graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism before earning her Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law. In law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, honing her skills in legal research and writing.
Helen has represented people across the state of North Carolina throughout her career. She began practicing law with her father in her hometown of Goldsboro. Helen’s dedication to her clients and her relentless pursuit of justice propelled her to move to Charlotte and ultimately to settle in Hillsborough where she continues representing clients statewide.
Deeply involved in the advocacy community, Helen serves on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, an organization dedicated to protecting people, preventing injustice and promoting fairness. She also serves on the executive committees of the NCAJ Auto Torts and Premises Liability Section and the Women’s Caucus.
Outside of the courtroom, Helen finds joy in long-distance running, cherishing moments with her family and friends, and cheering on her beloved Tar Heels. Together with her husband and daughter, she resides in Hillsborough, where they embrace the warmth of community and advocacy in all aspects of their lives.
