A collision occurred between a car that was turning into a driveway and a vehicle attempting to pass. The crash resulted in the death of two people, with two others injured and transported to the hospital. The auto accident took place on a stretch of North Carolina highway close to Tree Haven Road. It happened just before 4:30 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon.
According to the highway patrol in North Carolina, the driver in the car that was struck had paused on the highway before turning into a driveway. It was then hit when a second vehicle, which was going too fast, attempted to pass it. After striking the vehicle, the speeding car then collided with a tree, and both the driver and front passenger — a mother and daughter — were killed. The driver’s sister was in the back seat and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the car pulling into the driveway was also injured and transported to the hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.
In a blink, the lives of two families have changed. There is no getting around the anguish that the families will face, but they will also deal with expenses as a result. Once the authorities conclude their investigation, there will still be medical bills and repairs. There will also be final expenses for the two who lost their lives.
Often people are entitled to financial relief and do not realize it. In any tragedy, it is important to know one’s rights. The woman driving the car that was hit may wish to seek restitution by filing a claim against the estate of the driver in the speeding vehicle. If monetary damages are awarded, they could help cover her medical bills and any other expenses that have resulted from the auto accident.
